This is my great great grandmother Mary Molly Sack- Becker with her second husband Horace Becker.  This photo was taken in Atlantic City N.J. in 1926 according to my grandma Ethel Piper.

The caption on the back of the photo in my grandma's handwriting is:
"at Atlantic City 1926.  Nannie Becker and Uncle Horace.

Grandma told me that Nannie Becker used to give this advice regarding men: " Don't marry them just be their mistress, and you will get more out of them."

My grandma was not very fond of her grandmother, perhaps they were too much alike?  Grandma always called her "The Son of a B****."

Nannie Becker is also the one who told my grandma during one of their many skirmishes that her parents "had to get married," because Elizabeth was pregnant with Ethel.  She was so angry with Ethel when she died that she left her diamond ring to Dorothy, who promptly had it made into 2 rings one for her and one for Ethel.

Note:  The 1900 Census has them living at 1233 N. 10th St. in Philadelphia, and listed as the head of the house is M. William Becker not Horace.  Two stepsons John and Horace Sack live with them and a C. Jennie Sack as a lodger?????
