Adrian's Death at Elitch Gardens

When I was young, my Grandma Piper (Ethel Sack Piper) often told me the story about the death of her uncle, Adrian Sack (not to be confused with her brother Adrian Sack).  Grandma would be sitting at her kitchen table; smoking her ever present cigarette, and she would tell me how her Uncle Adrian met his death.  "He was riding the rollercoaster", she would say, "and when the coaster reached the top of the hill,he stood up in the car, and fell to his death."

Well, I can't resist a good story or a mystery, so recently I set out to see if I could find any record of this event.  I searched the internet, I went to the Denver Public Library, and searched newspaper and death records, but I couldn't find any mention of Adrians death.  I was beginning to get very frustrated with my search, and had just left Denver empty handed when fate intervined on my behalf.  I took a wonderful trip this summer and one stop on my journey was a visit to Aunt Betty and my cousin Lois in Salt Lake City.  Lois spent a couple of days showing me the city, and we had some great fun!  We had a great adventure that included a recalculant elevator and a not too helpful operator!  The culmination of our adventures included a visit to the Mormon Church Family History Library. Wow!  This is an amazing place and in a matter of minutes a very helpful lady produce the very document I had been serching for.
So here it is: The Denver Post article that tells us about Adrain Sack's tragic accident and also offers us some interesting hints about our family's history.

P.S. I would love to know more about Miss Hazel Matthews and Miss Pearl Jornell.
